Ascot Care work with the Alzheimers Society to help educate and inform people about dementia and some of the challenges that people with Dementia can face. By doing this we hope to enable people to better understand what Dementia is and how to help people that struggle with Dementia as well as helping people that care for those with Dementia.

All of our Care Workers are Dementia Friends which means that they have an understanding of Dementia and how to help people who have it. This has enabled our care workers to care for clients with varying stages of Dementia.

We also have a Dementia Champion at Ascot Care. Registered manager Marlene Riecker has taken the time to volunteer as a dementia champion. A dementia champion is someone who encourages others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. Marlene has done this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help
